Minnesota Deer Harvest Declines 4 Percent

Minnesota's deer harvest declined in 2012 but officials say it was a safe season for people who took to the woods. Final numbers released Monday show that Minnesota hunters killed nearly 185,000 deer, down 4 percent from 2011.

Minnesota Deer Harvest Up 7 Percent In 2010

Minnesota's deer harvest rose 7 percent during the 2010 season, compared with the previous year. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says thanks to ideal hunting weather during opening weekend of the firearms season, hunters harvested a total of 207,000 deer during the 2010 season. That's the 13th largest harvest on record.
