Twins, Deduno Top Cleveland 7-2

The Twins won their 3rd straight game against Cleveland 7-2 Monday night to win the series 3 games to 1. Sam Deduno threw 7 innings with 3 hits, 3 walks and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 6-3. Pedro Florimon went 2-4 with with a double and a triple, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, Joe Mauer was 2-4 with 1 RBI and Ryan Doumit hit a solo homerun for the Twins.

Former SCSU Baseball Player Gets Honor

Former St. Cloud State baseball player Jordan Smith has been named the minor league player of the week in the Cleveland Indiana organization for the 2nd time this season. He batted .571 with a homerun and 8 RBIs at single-A Lake County in the Indians organization. He is batting .322 with 5 homeruns and 44 RBIs at Lake County this season as an outfielder. He played 3rd base at St. Cloud State.

Santana Hits 25th Homer as Indians Beat Twins 10-4

Carlos Santana hit his 25th home run and Jeanmar Gomez pitched effectively into the seventh inning before leaving with an injury Saturday as the Cleveland Indians beat the Minnesota Twins 10-4.
