Minnesota led until the 8th inning when Josh Hamilton hit a 2-run homerun off Twins' reliever Glen Perkins. Perkins allowed 2 hits and 3 earned runs without recording an out for the Twins. Newly acquired outfielder Clete Thomas hit a 2-run homerun in his Twins debut.
