Cathedral Soccer Players Get Honors

Three Cathedral boys soccer players were named to the Class A State boys soccer All Tournament team for their efforts in the Class A State tournament last week. Myles Hagen, Joshua Robak, and Hayden Speaks were the 3 players named. Cathedral lost 2-1 to St. Paul Academy and Summit School in the state semifinals and lost 2-1 to Duluth Marshall in the 3rd place game.

Duluth Marshall defeated Cathedral 2-1 Tuesday to capture 3rd place in the Class A State Boys Soccer Tournament at the Metrodome. Junior Andres Almarza scored with an assist from senior forward Patrick Krebsbach for the lone Cathedral goal after falling behind 2-0 in the 2nd half.

The Cathedral boys soccer team plays top seeded St. Paul Academy and Summit School in the Class A State Tournament Semifinals at the Metrdome. St. Paul Academy and Summit School is the #1 seed and is 18-0-2 this season while Cathedral is seeded 5th and is 18-0-2 themselves.

The Cathedral boys soccer team won 2-1 over St. Paul Como Park Thursday night at Hopkins High School in the Class A State Tournament Quarterfinals. Charlie Schweiler scored the game-winning goal and Alan Flores had 6 saves for the Crusaders.

The Cathedral boys soccer team will play their State A State Tournament quarterfinal game against St. Paul Como Park tonight at 7:30 at Hopkins High School. The Crusaders are seeded 5th while St. Paul Como Park is seeded 4th. Cathedral is 17-0-2 while St. Paul Como Park is 19-1. The winner of tonight's game will play at the Metrodome at noon Monday October 29 against either top seeded St. Paul Academy and Summit School or Waconia.
