Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway is working Monday to clear a main track near Brainerd where 18 cars in a coal train derailed. The derailment left some of the coal cars on their sides. No injuries have been reported.

Emergency responders worked for nearly two hours Thursday to free a man trapped underneath a railroad car at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe yard in south central Minnesota. Police in Willmar called in companies that specialize in moving heavy equipment to help free the man.
