Twins Sending Perkins, Duensing to St. Cloud on Caravan

The Twins Winter Caravan will be coming to St. Cloud Tuesday January 15 at Rivers Edge Convention Center. Current Twins players relief pitchers Brian Duensing and Glen Perkins will be coming to St. Cloud for the event along with assistant coach Joe Vavra, Assistant General Manager Rob Antony and Kris Atteberry from the Twins Radio Network.

The Twins ended their 5-game losing streak with a 7-2 win at Oakland Monday night. Oakland's 4-game win streak is snapped. Brian Duensing threw 6 innings with 5 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) to earn the win and improve to 3-8. Joe Mauer and Josh Willingham were each 3-5 with 2 RBIs, Darin Mastroianni went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs and Pedro Florimon went 3-3 with 3 runs scored for the Twins.

The Twins lost 8-4 to the Tigers Tuesday night. Brian Duensing threw 6 innings with 8 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 2-8. Josh Willingham hit a 3-run homerun for the Twins. Willingham now has 30 homeruns setting a new single-season career high. Ben Revere was 2-5 with a run scored for Minneosta.

Cleveland downed the Twins 6-2 in Cleveland Wednesday to salvage the final game of the 3-game series and snap their 11-game losing streak. Brian Duensing allowed 11 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) in 7 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-7. Justin Masterson threw 7 innings with 3 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win. Alexi Casilla hit a 2-run homerun supplying the Twins with their only runs. Minnesota managed just 4 hits.

The Twins lost 9-4 Sunday afternoon to Oakland. The A's sweep the Twins in the 3-game series. Brian Duensing threw 2 innings with 7 hits and 6 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 1-6. Ryan Doumit was 2-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Brian Dozier was 2-4 with 1 RBI. The Twins lost 5-1 at Detroit Wednesday night after both teams endured a 2 hour and 26 minute rain delay. Justin Verlander threw all 9 innings with 4 hits and 1 earned run allowed with 7 strikeouts to get the win for the Tigers. Chris Parmelee homered to account for the lone Twins run and Denard Span was 2-4 for the Twins.
