Heavy rain from Monday's storms have prompted Benton County to declare a state of emergency. The move is in hopes of getting state funding to help repair several township roads that washed out due to the heavy rains.
A road construction project in Sauk Rapids that has been in the planning stages for three years is one, final step away from getting going. Benton County is waiting on final approval from MnDOT and hope to get the project underway on Tuesday, May 31st.
Two people are hurt after being involved in a three vehicle crash along Highway 23 this (Wednesday) morning. The incident happened at about 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 23 and Benton County Road 1 in St. Cloud.
