A fire at a farm near Sleepy Eye in southern Minnesota destroyed a dairy barn and the livestock inside. The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, and firefighters battled the blaze for at least three hours.
Fifty cows died in a barn fire early this (Friday) morning in Stearns County's Spring Hill Township. The Sheriff says the incident happened just after 2:00 a.m. at the Daniel Welle farm. The barn contained about 75 cows, only 20-25 got out safely.
