Bemidji Edges Apollo In Section Final

The Apollo baseball team lost 2-1 in the section 83A championship game Wednesday night at Dick Putz Field. Ryan Hirt outdueled Reese Gregory for Bemidji. Hirt threw all 7 innings with just 3 hits allowed to get the win. Apollo scored first on a 1st inning RBI single from Dylan Jaeger. Gregory threw all 7 innings for Apollo and allowed 5 hits, 3 walks and 2 earned runs to take the loss.

Cathedral, Apollo Baseball Both Survive

Section 6AA Elimination Game
Cathedral 2, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 1
(Cathedral advances to the Section 6AA final Thursday at 5pm at the MAC against Albany. The Crusaders have to beat Albany twice to advance to the state tournament while Albany needs just 1 win. WJON will broadcast the game or games Thursday night).

Prep Baseball Playoffs; Crusaders Face Must Win Tonight

The Cathedral baseball team faces a must-win game tonight at Dick Putz Field when they play Wadena-Deer Creek at 5pm. The Crusaders are the defending Class AA state champions. If Cathedral wins tonight they will play the loser of the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle vs. Albany game at 7pm Tuesday night. LPGE plays Albany at 7pm tonight in the winners bracket. The winner advances to the Section 6AA final Thursday.
