Popovers are a popular pastry at Anton's Restaurant in Waite Park. But how did Anton's and Popovers become synonymous with each other, and how did the tradition start? Today in our "Behind The Scenes" series, WJON's Jim Maurice takes us into their kitchen to learn about the tasty treat.
The Sauk River is flowing over it's banks, but so far Anton's Restaurant has not been affected. Owner Patti Gaetz says, even though they have water in part of their parking lot, the restaurant is open and is staying dry.
I headed off to Anton’s Restaurant a few weeks ago for lunch. There I enjoyed a wonderful BBQ Rib Dinner done to perfection. And yes, I enjoyed one of Anton’s giant popovers with honey butter. Patti Gaetz from Anton’s was on the WJON Daily Dose Show recently and talked about the rich history of Anton’s.
