Dayton, Republicans Take Budget Views On The Road

Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican legislative leaders hopscotch across Minnesota on Wednesday to pitch opposing views on the Democratic governor's budget. Dayton starts in Duluth and stops in Moorhead, Mankato and Rochester where he will appear with local mayors. Republican Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch and House Speaker Kurt Zellers are traveling in the opposite direction to the same cities to criticize the plan.

Minnesota Senate Takes Step Toward New Nuclear Power

The Minnesota Senate has approved legislation giving energy regulators authority to issue permits for new nuclear power plants. Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch says the bill wouldn't lead to immediate construction of a plant. It would get rid of a 17-year-old moratorium on consideration of nuclear energy facilities.
