The St. Cloud Regional Airport is adding a new destination. In a news release today (Wednesday), the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation says the airport will add an additional leisure service destination.
Allegiant Airlines has announced they will temporarily suspend air service from the St. Cloud Regional Airport later this year. Spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler says the last flight out of St. Cloud to Mesa, Arizona will leave August 14th, and they'll resume flights on October 9th.
It was back on a warm summer day in August that Allegiant Airlines announced plans to offer regular flights between St. Cloud and Mesa, Arizona. This Saturday at 5:05 p.m. that first plane full of central Minnesotans will take off to the warm destination.
Allegiant Airlines is coming to St. Cloud. While the airline is new to us, they're not new to the upper midwest. Allegiant is already offering regular flights out of Rochester, Duluth, Sioux Falls, Fargo, and Grand Forks.
