Minnesota's two U.S. Senators signed on to legislation today (Tuesday) that would keep the air traffic control tower open in St. Cloud. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken joined 16 other senators for the bipartisan "Protect Our Skies Act".
The St. Cloud Regional Airport got the official word today (Friday) from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The air traffic control tower will be closing, due to the federal sequestration.
The Federal Aviation Administration will officially announce Friday which of the nation's air traffic control towers will be closed because of the sequester.
