Peterson Says He’ll Play Sunday

Viking running back Adrian Peterson says he'll play Sunday when the Vikings host New Orleans Sunday at noon, pregame on WJON at 11am. Peterson has missed the last 3 games with a high ankle sprain in his left ankle. He joked Thursday that he's been getting pressured by fans on Twitter who want him back to help their fantasy football teams. Peterson was limited in practice Thursday.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson was a limited participate in practice Wednesday with a high ankle sprain to his left ankle but head coach Leslie Frazier expects Peterson to play Sunday against New Orleans. Peterson has missed the last 3 games with the high ankle sprain.

Ponder, Peterson Both Practice Friday

Viking quarterback Christian Ponder and running back Adrian Peterson both practice on a limited basis Friday and both are listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Detroit. Ponder didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday while Peterson was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday after not practicing on Wednesday. If Ponder can't play then Joe Webb will get the start at quarterback. Webb has been taking the first team snaps. Toby Gerhart will get the majority of the carries if Peterson cannot play.

Ponder his a hip pointer but expects to play Sunday. He could be limited in practice the rest of the week. Peterson says he's "70 percent" after missing 2 games with a high ankle sprain in his left ankle. He hopes to play Sunday and may try and practice today.

Viking quarterback Christian Ponder sustained a hip pointer injury Sunday after taking numerous hits against Denver Sunday. Head coach Leslie Frazier announced the injury to Ponder at his Monday press conference and said he is concerned about Ponder but the trainers say Ponder should be fine to play Sunday at Detroit. Ponder is likely to be limited in practice this week.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson is still not practicing with a high ankle sprain to his left ankle and failed to practice for a 2nd straight day on Thursday. Peterson says the soreness in his ankle is "winding down" and he is just "taking it slow right now". Peterson still expects to play Sunday against Denver despite not being cleared to practice yet.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson is listed as doubtful by the Vikings this week with a high ankle sprain and isn't expected to play at Atlanta this Sunday. Peterson has not been ruled out of the game but he didn't practice all week despite having the walking boot removed from the left foot and ankle on Friday. Peterson had said Thursday that he expected to play.

Vikings’ Peterson Expects To Play

The Vikings may play with running back Adrian Peterson afterall. Peterson said Thursday he expects to play Sunday at Atlanta despite a high ankle sprain. He hasn't practiced this week and he continues to be in a walking boot. The Vikings will likely find out today whether Peterson can play on the ankle as they take the walking boot off. If he cannot then the Vikings will use a combination of Toby Gerhart and Percy Harvin as the tailback.
