The Timberwolves selected 6'8 forward Derrick Williams from Arizona with the 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night.  Williams averaged 19 points and 8 rebounds a game in his final season at Arizona.  Williams is considered a player that can play the small forward or power forward position.  He will be introduced at a press conference today at 3pm.  Hear it live on AM 1390-the Fan.

The Wolves made 6 trades during the draft as well.  Minnesota dealt point guard Jonny Flynn to Houston in exchange for Brad Miller and a future 1st round draft pick from Memphis that is lottery protected.  The Wolves used 2 2nd round picks on point guard Malcolm Lee of UCLA (43rd overall) and 6'6 forward Targay Ngombo of the Congo (57th overall).  Minnesota also acquired 3 future 2nd round picks.
