MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An SUV slams into a north Minneapolis bus shelter, killing a woman who was sitting there.

Terrance Beauchamp Weaver says his mother, 45-year-old Billy Weaver, ate at McDonald's and was then waiting at the bus stop for him to pick her up when the SUV hit the shelter about 5:15 p.m. Monday.

The woman driving the SUV was backing out of the McDonald's parking lot, accelerated, hit a parked car, careened off a tree and then crashed into the bus shelter. Witnesses said the woman had been arguing with a man who was with her before getting into the SUV.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder says drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

Police detained two people in the SUV.
