Suspect Shot By Police in Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON – At 8:10 this morning (Friday), Hutchinson Police responded to a report of a suspicious male sleeping in the entryway of an apartment complex.

Upon the officer’s arrival, there was a brief confrontation and shots were fired. Authorities say the suspect, an adult male, was taken to Hutchinson Health for treatment.

Police Chief Dan Hatten says the officer was not injured.

Further details have not been released.

The incident is under investigation by Hutchinson Police Services, the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
