Suspect Leads Police on Nearly 12 Mile Chase

ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud man led police on a chase before ultimately getting arrested.

Officers responded to a vehicle break-in in progress at about 2:10 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning in the 2000 block of 27th Street Southeast.

Thirty-five year old Omar Alvarez was allegedly spotted leaving the area in a pickup.  He led police on a nearly 12 mile chase through St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids before ending on 9th Avenue North.

Alvarez is now facing a number of charges.
