Suspect in Series of Minnesota I-94 Holdups Arrested

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (AP) – A suspect is under arrest in a series of armed robberies along Interstate 94 from St. Cloud to the Minneapolis area.

Police arrested the man Thursday. Reports say charges have not been filed yet.

The latest of six holdups happened at a Burger King in Maple Grove early Wednesday. A man with a handgun demanded money and locked two workers in the cooler before leaving in a Dodge Durango.

Authorities believe the man also is responsible for five robberies in the past month along I-94. Two others involved Burger Kings, in Clearwater and Monticello, and happened hours apart on Sept. 19. The other robberies were in Big Lake, St. Cloud and another in Monticello.
