Suspect Dies In Crash During Police Pursuit
NORTH BRANCH (AP) — Authorities say a man fleeing police has died after crashing into an oncoming vehicle in east-central Minnesota.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office says a deputy who had been chasing the suspect near North Branch Friday also crashed into the man's car.
The deputy and the woman driving the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The sheriff's office was helping North Branch police try to locate the man, who had violated a no-contact order.
The man called the sheriff's office demanding to speak to the woman he was allegedly not supposed to contact. He threatened to harm himself, officers and others.
The Chisago County sheriff's deputy found the man in Isanti County, but the man fled and was swerving into oncoming traffic.
