ST. PAUL (AP) - An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting of a man trying to break up an apparent robbery in St. Paul.

St. Paul Police Department spokesman Steve Linders says the man arrested Tuesday is suspected of shooting the 30-year-old good Samaritan. The St. Paul man who was shot remained in critical condition at a hospital Tuesday.

Police say the victim and a friend got out of a car after seeing what appeared to be four teens robbing someone around 10 p.m. Sept. 2. According to police, the man was shot in the upper body by one of the teens as they approached the group.

The man who was shot ran back to the car, and police say his girlfriend drove him to the hospital.
