MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Survivors of a Texas Boy Scout troop's adventure trip to the pristine canoe country along the Minnesota-Canadian border are grieving over the deaths of a 13-year-old boy and a 39-year-old woman volunteer.

The group from Troop 121 in Carrollton, Texas, was camped on the Ontario side of Basswood Lake in Quetico Provincial Park when strong winds hit early Thursday, knocking down trees that killed two campers. Authorities identified them as 13-year-old Christian James Sanchez of Lewisville and 39-year-old Rorth Lac of Carrollton.

Scouting spokeswoman Effie Delimarkos says the survivors were taken back to their base camp near Ely, Minnesota. Travel arrangements were being made Friday.

Christian and several other boys in the troop are members at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas, which held a prayer vigil Thursday.
