Superintendent Bruce Watkins Announces His Retirement – Again

ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud Superintendent Bruce Watkins has announced his retirement - again.   Watkins says he informed the school board of his decision during last (Thursday) night's meeting.

Watkins came to the district in November of 2004, and retired the first time in June of 2008.  Watkins came out of retirement in 2010.  He says he thought it would be a one-year deal, but it turned into three.

The school board asked him to renew his contract for another year, but he declined.  Watkins says he informed the board now, so they would have plenty of time to find his replacement.  He'll be with the district through June.
