ST. CLOUD -- A record number of people were out at Lake George this past Wednesday for Summertime By George.

Attendance numbers for the finale event were approximately 13,000 according to event coordinator, Diane Kroska.

In fact, this summer had record attendance compared to previous years with a total of about 86,000 people.

It takes about 30 Rotary Club volunteers, two firemen and four police officers to make sure the event runs smoothly.

Kroska says the nice weather and music from Fabulous Armadillos played a factor in the high attendance numbers.

Johnny Holm Band set the previous record of 11,000 in attendance on July 10th. Kroska says she thinks this year was more successful because residents are starting to spread the word.

Next year musical guests will perform on a permanent stage.  The Rotary Club will start making plan's for next summer's events in October.
