ST. CLOUD -- Every Wednesday throughout the summer, Summertime by George becomes to most anticipated event of the week. However to before the party can get started there is lots to do behind the scenes.

"Week after week we are setting it up pretty much the same way, and so we kind of get into a routine," says Entertainment Chair Troy Fritz.

Each week a group of around 25 volunteers rotate through to help set up the vendors, band and the beer garden on the ground of Lake George Municipal Park.

The teams arrive on the grounds at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon and by 4:30 p.m. they have pretty much everything in place before the event starts at 5:00 p.m. but their job isn't finished yet.

"Between five and nine, the set up work is done, the only thing that continues throughout the night is we have people that are emptying garbages, we are selling pop and beverages, things like that," says Fritz.

Once the event is over the team works together along side Bethlehem Lutheran Church to help take down and pick up the park of garbage, and even the surrounding picnic areas.

"I think the bigger problem that I've seen over the years, is some of the sideline picnic areas that are not related to the event," says Fritz. "But we do our best to make sure we clean those areas too."

And as the event continues to grow, so must the crew to account for any changes occur over the years.

"When we started we were hoping to get 1,000 people to this event, now we get as many as 11,000 on some nights so we had to grow with the event," says Fritz.

All this work to make sure that those who attend have a good time.
