Suicidal Man Surrenders To Police

Saint Cloud Police were called to the Holiday Inn on 37th Avenue South just after midnight.

An investigation determined that a suicidal male had barricaded himself inside his hotel room and was in possession of a handgun.

Officers coordinated with hotel staff to evacuate guests from adjacent rooms.

A negotiator from Saint Cloud Police was able to successfully convince the 46-year old Cold Spring resident to peacefully surrender.

He was taken into custody and transported to Saint Cloud Hospital where he was placed on a mental health evaluation hold.

No one injured as a result of the incident.
