ST. CLOUD -- A new study shows St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical and Community College have a combined estimated economic impact of $640 million and over 8-thousand jobs in the local economy.

Individually, SCSU's impact is $519 million with a $121 million impact for the tech college.

The study also concludes that both institutions generate a combined $36 million in tax revenues for state and local governments.

On a state level, 31 McSCU schools generate $8.3 billion in annual economic impact and represent a return of $13.53 for each dollar of state appropriation.

The survey was conducted by Wilder Research - a nationally recognized organization.
