ST. CLOUD -- A former member of the band Diamond Back has made a name for his own playing the keyboard.

Jacob John stopped by the WJON studio to sing and play live today (Friday) on the News @ Noon Show.

He says he takes a lot of different music and puts his own style on it.

"I've always had ideas instrumentally, I've had melodies in my head for a long time but I didn't have the ability to bring that out and that's why I started back on the piano," says John.

John plays in the band "Reverb County Dusters" and is one half of the duo "American Feed Bag."

He says he took piano lessons as a kid but was never confident in his abilities to play, which caused him to stop playing for about 20-years.

"Even when I took lessons I was never confident as a player and that's the reason I started solo piano, to get out of the comfort zone of having a band behind you," says John.

You can see John play tomorrow (Saturday) night playing with the "Reverb Country Dusters" in the parking lot at the Ace Bar and Grill. You can also check him out on Saturday, September 19th playing at the Veranda Lounge in downtown St. Cloud with the "American Feed Bag."
