Steve P. Mariash, 91, St. Joseph

October 13, 1923 - November 21, 2014

Steve P. Mariash, 91, passed away Friday morning, November 21, 2014 at home in St. Joseph, Minnesota.

Steve was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Youngstown, a son of the late Alex and Anna (Mracko) Mariash. He was a lifelong resident until the passing of his wife in March, 2014 after which he lived with his son and daughter-in-law in St. Joseph, Minnesota.

He was a graduate of Chaney High School. He was a World War II Veteran and was employed at U.S. Steel, Ohio Works for 35 years.

Steve was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown where he served as an usher for over 30 years. He also was the Austintown Fitch High School football equipment coordinator for 12 years and an Ohio State Track & Field Official for 39 years.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Mariash, whom he married in 1957. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Stephen (Jerri) Mariash and two grandchildren, Cameron and Corbin. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Church on New Road in Austintown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m.

Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and Kinnick Funeral Home, Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.

In lieu of flowers, Steve’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church in Austintown.
