Stearns County to Hold Liberty Derrick Demonstrations at Quarry Park

WAITE PARK -- The Stearns County Parks Department will be holding two demonstrations tomorrow (Tuesday-today) so residents can get a look at the 100-year-old wooden Liberty Derrick.

The derrick was restored and placed at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.

Derricks were used decades ago to lift large granite blocks from the quarry and onto a loading dock.

The demonstrations will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday-today).
