Paynesville Area Man Found Dead In Rice Lake

PAYNESVILLE - The Stearns County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 73-year-old Paynesville man.

Deputies responded to a call at about 6:00 p.m. last (Wednesday) evening on Rice Lake in Eden Lake Township, about 4 1/2 miles east of Paynesville.

Officials found the man unresponsive in the water, between a pontoon and the the lift wheel for the pontoon lift.

The incident remains under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Department and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office.
