WAITE PARK -- Residents in Stearns, Benton and Sherburne counties can now recycle old or damaged car seats.

Until now, residents had no recycling options and were left to throw them in the garbage or pass them off to other family or friends.

This new partnership is between Tri-County Solid Waste and Stearns and McCleod counties. McCleod County will disassemble the seats and recycle the components.

You can drop off your used car seats at the Household Hazardous Waste facility near the West Side Service Center in Waite Park during normal business hours and the third Saturday of each month.

The hours are Mondays from 9:00-5:00 and Tuesday through Friday from 9:00-4:00.  The Saturday hours are from 8:00-Noon.
