Stearns County Offering New Emergency Notification Alerts

ST. CLOUD -- You may have noticed a new alert on your phone last Sunday warning you of a flash flood for our area. It's part of a new emergency notification system implemented by Stearns County's Emergency Management Department.

The Integrated Public Alert and Warning System also known as IPAWS is a mass notification system pushed out to cell phones using your GPS signal. The alerts are automatic unless you change the settings in your phone.

Stearns County is now offering a sign-up to get additional alerts through your e-mail, landline, business phone or text.
