ST. CLOUD  (AP) — The criminal sexual conduct trial of a Stearns County sheriff's deputy has been delayed again, this time because of a murder trial in Anoka County that has forced the prosecutor to ask for a continuance.

It's been about two years since Sgt. Phil Meemken was placed on administrative leave because of the allegations.

His trial now will start in either April or May because of a logjam in the Anoka County courts.

Anoka County is prosecuting the case to avoid a conflict of interest in having Stearns County prosecute one of its own deputies. Meemken is charged with providing alcohol to three teenagers and performing sex acts on them.

County records show Meemken has been paid more than $200,000 in salary and benefits during his time on leave.
