ST. CLOUD - Stearns County has a new way of alerting it's residents during an emergency.

The mass notification system called Everbridge will contact you during a severe weather event, public health concerns, environmental issues, and matters of public safety.

Messages can be sent where you choose, such as landlines, cell phones, or your work number.  You can also choose to get an email or text message.  Or, all of the above.

Currently, Stearns county residents listed in the county's 9-1-1 database receive emergency alerts online on their landline.

To sign-up for this new system, you need to go to the county's website.
