UNDATED -- The National Weather Service will issue a simulated tornado warning twice today to help communities prepare for the severe weather season.

National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Todd Krause says they will issue the warning at 1:45 p.m. and again at 6:55 p.m.

Krause says it's important to plan ahead where you and your family would go in the event of a tornado warning.

He also says stay informed through the radio, smart phones or internet on potential watches and warnings.
