ST. CLOUD - The State Patrol is urging drivers to be cautious with warmer temperatures and melting snow creating icy and foggy conditions on Minnesota roads.

The State Patrol is reporting an increase in accidents over the weekend due to these conditions. Sergeant Jesse Grabow with the Minnesota State Patrol says warmer temperatures in the middle of winter can lead to tricky road conditions.

Grabow says motorists should slow down and pay close attention if icy or foggy conditions are present.

Grabow also emphasized that drivers need to turn their headlights on during the day if foggy conditions are present.

More winter driving and safety tips can be found on the Minnesota State Patrol website.
