ST. CLOUD -- The state's Senate Transportation Committee visited St. Cloud today to hear questions, concerns and issues regarding transportation from area residents.

At the hearing, the committee heard public testimonies from over 20 area leaders and residents. Charles Ferguson of St. Cloud attended the hearing and provided his testimony concerning public transportation.

Senator Mary Kiffmeyer (R-Big Lake) says the turnout at the hearing today illustrates how important the issue is to the people of the St. Cloud Area.

Senator Scott Dibble (DFL-Minneapolis) is the Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee. He says the committee is making an effort to reach out to the people of greater Minnesota in order to hear their views.

Dibble says he thought the hearing went well, and the trip allowed the committee to see firsthand the area's needs, opportunities, and challenges in transportation.

St. Cloud is the first stop in the committee's tour which includes several other locations throughout the state.
