ST. CLOUD -- There are changes coming to the Stearns County Environmental Services Department. The board of commissioners has accepted a consultant's recommendations on re-structuring the department.

Consultant Herbert Trenz says the first and most important change is to improve the technology.  Trenz says it will streamline services and allow the staff to spend more time in the field.

The study recommends the county should immediately start recruiting for the position on Environmental Services Director, eliminate one of the three supervisors positions, transition one full-time staff person to the Melrose Office and reduce the number of full-time equivalent employees by three or four.

Trenz also says a customer satisfaction survey should be implemented to address customer service complaints.
