ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Police say a West St. Paul teenager allegedly trying to rob people in St. Paul was shot and killed by one of his victims.

Investigators said four juvenile suspects tried to rob two adults Friday night. One of the suspects was wearing a mask and gloves, and approached the victims while showing a handgun.

Reports say one of the victims of the robbery also took out a gun and shot the suspect. Police said the person who fired the shot holds a valid conceal-and-carry permit, immediately called police and gave first aid while the three other suspects fled.

The suspect died at the scene. The Ramsey County medical examiner identifies him as 16-year-old Lavauntai Broadbent.

Police say the other three suspects have been arrested.
