ST. PAUL (AP) - St. Paul police say they've shot and killed a man who was sending death threat texts.

Police say officers responded to a complaint about 2 a.m. Wednesday from someone who said the suspect was sending the threatening text messages. Officers were informed the suspect was known to carry a gun.

Authorities say officers located the suspect near Regions Hospital and that multiple shots were fired and that the man was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officers were not injured.

Sgt. Paul Paulos says police fired the shots that killed the man. Two officers have been placed on administrative leave.
