ST. PAUL (AP) - Three young children from St. Paul are in protective custody because their mother is accused of whipping them with an electrical cord.

A criminal complaint against 28-year-old Khima McAdory says she told investigators she used the extension cord because her children - all under age 7 - did not clean their rooms properly.

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi says McAdory crossed the line into physically abusing the children. McAdory faces two felony and two gross misdemeanor charges. Two of the charges deal with alleged threats she made to her children.  McAdory denies making threats.
