ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A man has settled his lawsuit that he filed after police used a stun gun while arresting him in St. Paul's skyway system in 2014.

Thirty-year-old Chris Lollie of St. Paul alleged his constitutional rights were violated. He sued for $500,000 in compensatory damage, contending that police used excessive force.

Reports say the federal lawsuit was settled this week, but details were not available Friday. The St. Paul City Council must sign off on the settlement.

Lollie was arrested Jan. 31, 2014. He claimed he was doing nothing wrong as he sat in the skyway, and that he was targeted because he was black. Charges against him, including trespassing and disorderly conduct, were dropped.

The officers were cleared of wrongdoing by the Police-Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission.
