The free event features food, games and activities, and live music including a performance by Martin Zeller and the Hardways. A silent auction and used book sale also highlight the 15th annual event.

"It's a great way to bring an end to the summer," says John Munson, Chair of the St. Mary's Cathedral Block Party.

The block party is not exclusive to church members, as Munson says this is an opportunity for everybody in the community to come together and have a good time.

"It's not just a church festival," Munson says. "This is designed for the whole community out there."

"It's a great way to bring friends, get out in the community, meet people with good family entertainment."

The event begins with an outdoor mass at 4:00 p.m. with the party going until 10:00 p.m. It's free to attend with proceeds from the silent auction, used book sale and food sales going to the church.
