ELK RIVER -- One person is hurt after a three vehicle crash in Elk River this (Monday) morning.

The incident happened just after 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 169 and School Street.

The state patrol says 35-year-old Anna Auburn, of Big Lake, was driving down Highway 169 when she had a brake failure.

Auburn attempted to slow down by driving on the shoulder, but drove through the intersection of School Street hitting a Subaru Legacy, which hit a third vehicle.

The driver of the subaru, 51-year-old Susan Bergum, of St. Louis Park, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Auburn and the driver of the third vehicle, 57-year-old Kurt Gramith of Big Lake, were not hurt in the crash.
