ST. JOSEPH -- The St. Joseph water tower is out of service for maintenance work. The city is currently using the College of St. Benedict's water tower as a pressure source until they finish their repairs.

According to the city's web site, they will continue to provide the same source of drinking water from their wells and water treatment systems. However, there may be some disturbance in service while crews are opening and closing valves.

They also say that you could experience some discoloration of water during this time. City administrator Judy Weyrens says the water is safe to drink. If you do experience discoloration you're asked to report it to the City Offices at 320-363-7201.

The repairs are expected to last about six weeks.
