St. Joseph City Council Approves Special Use Permit For Private Event Center [AUDIO]

ST. JOSEPH — St. Joseph will soon have a new private event center for weddings and conventions.

The St. Joseph City Council approved a special use permit Thursday night to allow Scenic Specialties Landscape Company to move forward with plans to build Rolling Ridge Wedding & Event Center.

The new facility will be located at 31101 County Road 133. City Administrator Judy Weyrens says caterers with a valid Minnesota caterers license will be able to serve alcohol at the venue.

There is a historic barn located on the property that is used for event from May to October.

The owner Randy Schmitz plans to build a year-round event center. The company now has the ability to move forward with the building permit process.
