ST. JOSEPH - The city of St. Joseph has been awarded a $600,000 state grant to help residents fix up their homes.

City Administrator Judy Weyrens says the money will be distributed through the Central Minnesota Housing Partnership.

Homeowners in the area between College Avenue and 4th Avenue Northwest will be able to apply for some of the grant money to replace windows, siding, and shingles.  Weyrens says they are still working out the specific details, and more information should be released in the next week or two.

St. Joseph is one of 32 towns in greater Minnesota with populations under 50,000 sharing nearly $18 million through the Small Cities Development Program.
