MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An attorney for nine alleged sexual abuse victims says a settlement has been reached with St. John's Abbey in Collegeville.

Attorney Jeff Anderson said Monday the settlement involves 10 monks or priests who taught at St. John's Preparatory School or were assigned to parishes. He declined to disclose a dollar amount.

Anderson says the settlement requires St. John's to send a letter to anyone who attended the prep school, disclosing the names of offenders against minors.

He says the settlement also frees all sex abuse victims to talk publicly. They had been under gag orders in previous settlements.

The alleged abuse occurred from the 1960s to 2004. Some of the offenders are now dead.

A spokesman for the abbey did not immediately return phone calls for comment.
