St. Cloud’s New Walmart Store to Open Friday

ST. CLOUD - The new St. Cloud Walmart is scheduled to open this week.

Store Manager Sarah Klein says they have a grand opening planned for 7:30 a.m. Friday, with the doors officially opening for business at 8:00 a.m.  They'll be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week after that.

Klein says they're finishing-up their hiring process, and plan to have about 300 full and part-time employees.

The new Walmart will be a Supercenter, with 150,000 square feet.  It cost Walmart $12 million to build.

It's located at 3601 Second Street South in St. Cloud on the site of the old Sam's Club store.  The old Sam's Club was slightly smaller at 123,000 square feet, and employed about 150 people.
